Finishing up 2007

We have been up to a whole lot of nothin' at the end of this week!

Several loads of laundry, a huge grocery store run, and lots of playing with new toys and games has occupied our time since Christmas day.

A few things I want to remember about the last few days of 2007:

* We went to church last night and since they had no classes/children's church because of the holiday weekend, the boys were in the service with us. Again, they were so good! Seth made us laugh out loud though when he informed us that he would like a "pole" (a.k.a. microphone stand) for his new microphones which would allow him to play the guitar and sing at the same time (like the guy leading singing had at church). My little guy is always thinking!

* Another Seth story: He loves chocolate milk (not a big surprise since he has a major sweet tooth). Yesterday when we got home from the grocery store, I gave him a cup with some of the new milk we had just bought. He was gone less than 5 minutes when he came and said, "Mommy, my milk just spilled." I groaned thinking that he had just spilled chocolate milk on the carpet somewhere. When I asked where it spilled, he laughed and said, "It spilled in my mouth! Can I have more?" We both laughed then as I poured him another cup!

* We had our first successful Family Movie Night on Friday night. It was the first time Seth has sat through an entire movie and watched most of it. Muppets in Space was on tv last night and the boys thought it was hilarious. We pulled out the sofa bed, popped some popcorn, and enjoyed an evening of laughing with Kermit, Miss Piggy, and all their pals.

* Sam has been working on his first solo 100 piece puzzle. He has loved puzzles since he was little and he still does (unlike his brother). Santa brought him two new hard ones (100 piece) and he completed one of them today. Other than helping him get started on a few edge pieces, he did the entire thing by himself. We were proud of him!

* Sam has also enjoyed his new Fisher Price MP3 player that he got for Christmas. He asks me to add more songs on it everyday -- I don't think he quite understands that adding more songs means spending more money! He sure does look cute boppin' around the house with headphones on.

* Finally, I went and got a haircut today and thought, "a new year, a new 'do" I cut off around 4 inches and I already like how much lighter it is. I think it will be a good change and make me not have a ponytail in 24/7 which I do when it is long!

Tonight we have some of our best Frisco friends coming over to our house for dinner! We are excited about catching up with them and hearing all about their holidays...Sam can't wait to hang out with some of his best buds too.

The rest of the New Year's weekend has in store getting our house un-Christmas-ized. I have loved having the tree and decorations up, but honestly, I am looking a little forward to having our house back to normal again!

Happy New Year!
