9 years and counting...

Pub Date:2008-03-08 23:00:00 Author: Click:20 Category: host a baby shower

Not quite a decade yet, but Kevin and I are celebrating our 9 year anniversary today. Our actual date night out isn't until tomorrow night (Alyssa is watching our boys while we go out on a fun date together) -- today we are celebrating by Kevin going to work and me spending the last day before school starts back with my other two favorite guys. I feel blessed daily by the man God led me to. Kevin is a wonderful husband and father and I am a lucky girl to be married to him!

The Christmas decorations are down at our house. Everytime Seth walks into our living room he says (dramatically), "Christmas is over. I'm sad." It does make our house look different and less cheerful and bright without lights and decorations everywhere.

We had a great time seeing some of our close friends from Frisco when they came to eat at our house on Sunday night. There is something unique about our little 4 couple group -- our kids feel like they are cousins with each other and the adults feel like family. We are all so different in personality, interests, etc., but that makes for a lot of laughing and getting along! We have already put into work the plans for another reunion sometime this March or April.

We let the boys stay up on Monday night to "ring in the New Year." I am not sure how much they understood it, but they sure were excited about staying up so late! We watched the ball drop in NYC, counted down, yelled Happy New Year and all gave each other hugs and kisses afterwards. We talked about the highlights of our year (Sam & Seth both said theirs was DisneyWorld...that might have been mine too!)

And finally, we have been introduced into the world of Webkinz. Our nephew got one at Christmas from us and then Sam & Seth got one from my parents for Christmas too (my mom & dad didn't know all that was involved with Webkinz and just thought they were cute Hallmark stuffed animals!). We set up our Webkinz world this afternoon for Sam and he is addicted! He loves all things animal and all things computer, so this combines two of his favorite things! In his defense, he seems to really understand how it works and just planted a vegetable garden for them tonight so he can grow food and not always have to buy it at the store. We have already learned that a timer will have to be set so he doesn't spend all day long on this crazy virtual world website, but talk about a good motivator!
